KSG Partners L.L.C. is a partnership between three longtime friends, Keith Anderson, Greg Grabowski and Shane Jaskie. As avid Harley riders that sometimes felt “been there, done that” about the usual hangouts and the roads to get there, the partners had a dream of creating a fun and rewarding event that would give fellow riders a chance to see new places and meet new people. In late 2008, the idea of a 3-month poker run focused around taverns and restaurants with interesting history, themes and locations was born. The idea turned into a serious plan; Create a unique poker run that would entertain motorcycle riders of all different interests while fundraising for a local charity and having a big party to cap it all off. So, in early 2009, the partners got to work making the dream a reality. An LLC was formed, charities were researched, participating locations were signed, a party was planned and the official stamp book was designed, printed and ready for sale - all in under three months!


The first KSG Summer Poker Run officially kicked off June 1, 2009 with 42 participating locations. The Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin was designated as the recipient of charity proceeds from the run. The end-of-year party was planned for the late August at Milwaukee Harley-Davidson, the run’s official dealer sponsor. Approximately 250 riders attended the year-end party, many of them proudly turning in a completed stamp book which entitled them to draw a hand of cards. The participants with the top 10 poker hands and others with winning raffle tickets took home prizes. There was plenty of food, drink and live music by the SweetTarts. It was a great way to end the run, even though Mother Nature delivered plenty of clouds and unseasonably cool 65° temps!


By all accounts, the first year of KSG’s Summer Poker Run was a success, and both the 2010 and 2011 runs were even better. We have big plans for the 2012 run, including 100 locations, higher prize amounts and of course more fun and some surprises. The year-end party is scheduled for Saturday, August 18th, 2012 and Milwaukee H-D will again be the title dealership sponsor. More copies of the official stamp book will be available and there is another promotional campaign planned that will increase awareness of the run and sales of the stamp book. Our goal is to be the most entertaining poker run in all of Wisconsin, and someday the biggest and best in the country. We hope you will join us!
